Thryve's Visualization Widget

Building a digital health application is about much more than connecting wearable devices. Once the data starts flowing, users expect intuitive dashboards that help them understand their health, track progress, and stay engaged. Whether it’s sleep patterns, activity summaries, or recovery trends, data becomes valuable only when it is presented in a way that is easy to interpret.

The challenge is that building these visualizations requires significant frontend development, design work, and ongoing maintenance. Even though many digital health platforms end up creating similar dashboards, each team often builds them from scratch.

With the launch of the Thryve Visualization Widget (Beta), we’re making that process much easier. Instead of developing common health visualizations yourself, you can now embed predefined, production-ready widgets directly into your web application through a simple API call. This allows development teams to spend less time building dashboards and more time creating differentiated healthcare experiences.

Why Data Visualization Matters

Wearables generate thousands of biometric data points every day, including heart rate, sleep duration, activity levels, heart rate variability, and many other health metrics. While this continuous data provides enormous value, raw numbers alone rarely help end users understand their health.

A daily resting heart rate or step count tells only part of the story. Users benefit most when this information is presented visually, allowing them to recognize trends, compare patterns over time, and better understand how their lifestyle affects their health.

For digital health providers, effective visualization also improves engagement. When users can easily interpret their health data, they are more likely to return to the application, complete health programs, and remain engaged over longer periods.

Despite this, building high-quality dashboards remains one of the most time-consuming aspects of developing wearable-powered applications.

Introducing the Thryve Visualization Widget

The new Visualization Widget allows our partners to itegrate predefined health visualizations directly into their own applications without developing custom frontend components.

Instead of creating charts from scratch, developers simply request a visualization by specifying a template ID through the Thryve API. The API returns a secure URL that can be embedded directly into an iframe or WebView, making integration fast and straightforward.

Because the visualization is hosted by Thryve, teams benefit from professionally maintained components while significantly reducing development effort and maintenance overhead.

The Visualization Widget is currently available in beta, with additional templates planned over time based on customer feedback and product roadmap priorities.

How Visualization Widget Works

The integration process has been designed to be simple.

First, your application creates a visualization session by sending a request to the Thryve API. The request includes the user’s Thryve end-user ID, the desired visualization template, and optional configuration parameters such as language.

The API then generates a secure visualization session and returns two key elements:

  • a visualization URL
  • a visualization session token

The returned URL can immediately be embedded into an iframe or WebView inside your own application.

For security purposes, each visualization session is protected by a short-lived session token. Tokens expire after 15 minutes, requiring applications to generate a new session automatically when needed. This ensures secure user authentication while keeping implementation lightweight.

Available Visualization Templates

The first beta release includes two visualization templates that demonstrate how standardized health insights can be embedded into partner applications.

Social Jet Lag

Social Jet Lag compares an individual’s biological sleep schedule with their socially driven sleep patterns. By visualizing differences between workdays and free days, users gain a better understanding of how inconsistent sleep schedules may impact recovery, energy levels, and long-term health.

This visualization is particularly valuable for prevention programs, sleep coaching, employer wellness initiatives, and digital therapeutics focused on behavioral change.

Daily Totals

The Daily Totals visualization provides users with a simple overview of their daily health metrics. By presenting key activity data in an easy-to-understand format, it offers a clear snapshot of daily progress without requiring custom dashboard development.

The template is designed to serve as a reusable building block for many digital health applications, with additional visualization templates planned throughout the beta program.

The Visualization Widget is currently in beta, and this is only the beginning.
